- Hose down your awning every month or so. You may use a mild solution of warm water and dish detergent with a soft bristle brush and sponge. DO NOT USE POWER WASHERS, STIFF BRUSHES, OR CHEMICAL CLEANERS. These will damage the material and thread.
- Keep the underside of your awning clean by brushing with a soft household broom.
- Keep all shrubbery and vines away from the awning. Many plants contain acids that can harm the fabric.
- If you keep your awnings rolled up, drop them every so often to make sure no unwanted guests have created a home. Bees, birds, and squirrels will damage your awning.
- Do not store your awnings in a damp place. Do not store in non-breathable plastic bags. Air circulation is important.
